At the crest of Montmartre (Mountain of Martyrs) is the
Basilique du Sacré Coeur. Built to give thanks for surviving
the Franco-Prussian War of 1870, the church was consecrated in 1919.
From the top of the dome, there is a panoramic view
in all directions extending over 30 kilometers.
