Leonardo da Vinci's "La Gioconda" or "Mona Lisa"

It is believed that Francesco di Bartolommeo di Zanobi del Giocondo,
one of the noblest citizen of Florence, ordered from Leonardo a portrait of his wife
Lisa di Antonio Maria di Noldo Gherardini.

Notice the hordes of tourists reflected in the bulletproof glass;
the Mona Lisa has been stolen by thieves, "borrowed" by Napoleon for his bedroom,
and had acid splattered on it during its history
