Le Jardin des Tuilleries was originally the Gardens of the Tuilleries Palace,
where Louis XVI and Marie Antoinette were held under house arrest
during the French Revolution.

They are an excellent example of French formal gardens, located between the
Place de la Concorde and the Louvre Museum,
and between the Seine River and the Rue de Rivoli
